TIP

Eaglercraft comes in two flavors: JavaScript and WASM (WebAssembly). The standard JavaScript build runs in every modern browser with no setup and is what most players use because it's stable. The experimental WebAssembly build may deliver up to 50% better FPS in some cases, but requires a recent Chrome build and can be unstable. If you're not sure which to pick, the JavaScript version is the safe default.

Eaglercraft downloads the official Minecraft assets directly from Mojang's servers at launch, the same way the original Minecraft launcher does. This lets it run a genuine version of Minecraft compiled to JavaScript using TeaVM. Since Minecraft uses a standard TCP connection and browsers use WebSockets, a lightweight proxy plugin bridges the two — meaning you get real Minecraft gameplay through a completely standard web page.
Chromebooks, iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, or any device with a modern browser. Touch mode activates automatically on mobile. The JavaScript runtime even works on Chrome 38 on Windows XP.
No account needed. Eaglercraft operates independently of Mojang's authentication servers. Just open the link, choose a username, and you're in instantly.
Yes, Eaglercraft has full multiplayer support. Just enter any Eaglercraft compatible server address in the multiplayer menu and you're in. Servers run on EaglerXServer, a proxy plugin that bridges your browser's WebSocket Secure (WSS) connection to a real Minecraft TCP server. There are hundreds of active servers running survival, PvP, SkyBlock, BedWars, creative, and more. Note that servers must support WSS connections to be joinable from the browser. Standard Minecraft servers without the proxy plugin will not work. A list of servers can be found here.
Yes, Eaglercraft's singleplayer mode runs through an integrated server inside your browser, so no internet connection is required to play solo. Your worlds save automatically to your browser's local storage and are available whenever you return, online or not.
Yes, worlds save to browser localStorage automatically. You can also export your worlds as EPK files to back them up, move them to another device, or share them with friends. You can import them back just as easily. Vanilla Minecraft 1.8 worlds can be imported as ZIP files if you want to bring your existing maps into Eaglercraft.
The one thing that does require an internet connection is Shared Worlds, which is the feature that lets you invite friends into your singleplayer world using a join code. Multiplayer servers also require a connection as expected.
Yes. Eaglercraft servers run on EaglerXServer, a proxy that bridges your browser's WebSocket connection to a standard Minecraft TCP server. You'll need a machine or VPS with a public IP, Java, and EaglerXServer installed from the official GitHub. It runs on top of BungeeCord or Velocity, so the setup is familiar if you've hosted a Minecraft server before. Once running, players connect directly from their browser via the multiplayer menu.
